Writing as therapy.
Hi friends. Thank you for being part of my social media journey since we connected. Amidst all the muck that life throws at you, social media has predominantly been therapeutic for me. Except for the past few years, where the political theatre has been playing out very pungently, much to my dismay. In these few years, I have lost some friends – some to politics, and some because of my mistakes maybe. We will get to discuss the nature of social media in one of my later posts.
But beginning today, the theme of the posts that you will come across on my timeline will be seeing a shift. The pre-defined, self-labelled, fun-loving lazy writer who was predominantly defining up most of my persona and therefore my life gives way to the bit-more-serious, innate life-observer who seems to have many not-so-welcome opinions on relationships, communication, customer service, advertising, spirituality, God and a whole lot of things that together we in common parlance, define as life.
I am hoping that this moment, this post has a transformative effect on my self, my outlooks and the way I relate to the world; as they say, if you want change, write it down. Well, this is my personal manifesto.
I welcome you to be part of my journey and share your views/opinions, as always. I might not debate/argue your povs, because I for one believe that we are all on our own ride and we can do better with much lesser noise, question our biases, ponder upon the different views impartially and change ours if need be, in our own heads; because it definitely shouldn’t be an ego trip, where winning/losing the debate gets more important than the probable solution to the issue at hand.
I am also planning to begin writing on substack, the details of which I shall post soon. If you are on this platform and can share any pointers and help, that would be great.
They say writing is therapeutic. And I am beginning mine hopefully today.
Please wish me luck and thanks much for reading through.
